“Day of Community Service” – Saturday, April 26, 2014; 8 a.m.-12 noon

On Saturday, April 26th, countless individuals, organizations and businesses will join together for what is aimed to be one of the most ambitious on-day community revitalization projects ever held in the area. You don’t want to miss it.

In April 2011, a similar program revitalized three West Sacramento parks: River Walk, Bryte Park, and Alice Norman Park. Were you part of the effort? Now you can pitch in to help a new area—this time Sacramento’s south area.

5,000 volunteers are needed to help. You can help Re-shape the quality of life for an entire community as well as Re-vitalize and Re-imagine a healthier, safer place to live, shop and thrive in the area along the Mack Road corridor. All you need to do is show that you care.

The projects are numerous and diverse, but all work towards the common goal of Re-building together.

From improving the health and safety of ten dilapidated homes, to painting street murals, improving children’s play areas, community gardens, pedestrian and bicycle access, fencing and even renovating a new community center to host dance, theatre and art classes and provide warm meals to neighborhood children…there is a volunteer opportunity that is perfect for YOU. Regardless of your age, ability or level of experience, there is a place for YOU at the Day of Community Service.

Re-consider how you will use just FOUR HOURS of your time. Help your neighbors. Show local leaders that you care. YOU can be a part of the action!
