Outdoor Watering Restrictions Remain in Effect

CWS-Web-150x150The weather is changing, but California is still in the midst of a serious drought.  The City of West Sacramento wants to remind our customers that the outdoor watering restrictions that were implemented over the summer are still in effect.

Remember to follow these water use restrictions:

  • Do not use potable (drinking) water to wash down sidewalks, driveways, streets or parking lots.
  • Do not use drinking water to wash down buildings or to cool building roofs.
  • Do not water lawns or landscaping between noon and 6:00 p.m.
  • Limit outdoor watering to the odd/even schedule. Customers with street addresses that end in an odd number may only irrigate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Customers with street addresses that end in an even number may only irrigate on Wednesday, Fridays, and Sundays. No irrigation is permitted on Mondays.
  • Do not wash a motor vehicle with a hose unless it is fitted with an automatic shut-off nozzle.
  • Do not operate a fountain or other decorative water feature unless the water is part of a recirculating system.
  • Do not allow landscape irrigation to runoff to an adjacent property, non-irrigated areas, private and public walkways, roadways, parking lots or structures.
