Education and Career Tips Offered at Youth Symposium

The Eta Alpha Sigma Chapter  of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. presents the 18th annual youth symposium, “Building Partnerships to Support Our Youth,” Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Elkhorn Village Elementary School, 750 Cummins Way, West Sacramento.

The goal is to demonstrate that by working together, it’s possible to create a strong community village, positioned to support young people. In partnership with Elkhorn Village Elementary and Girl Scouts USA, Eta Alpha Sigma Alumnae is presenting a series of workshops and panels designed to enrich education and career opportunities for middle and high school students in Yolo and Sacramento counties.

Discussion topics and panels include Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Workshops include: the dangers of texting and driving  skill building in smart banking, safe engagement with law enforcement, and Zumba. The free event includes a lunch.
