Local senior citizens, family members and caregivers are invited to the Senior Resource Fair, Friday, May 1, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the West Sacramento Community Center, 1075 West Capitol Ave., West Sacramento 95691.
The free fair will provide information of interest to seniors and their daily lives, including health and transportation. The event is produced by the West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Dept. and the Bryte Broderick Community Action Network (BBCAN). There will be refreshments and prize drawings.
More than 40 community organizations are expected to set up displays including the Yolo County District Attorney’s Fraud Prevention Unit, with information about unfair business practices, deceptive sales pitches, and scams. Learn to identify scams and protect yourself.
The Senior Resource Fair will have Spanish and Russian translators on hand.
For seniors without transportation, a free door-to-door shuttle ride may be reserved by calling the Broderick Christian Center, (916) 372-0200, ext. 1100, no later than April 30.
