City of West Sacramento Water Savings Reach 38%

Congratulations to residents and businesses in the City of West Sacramento for using 38% less water in May compared to the same time period in 2013!  water conservation

The State Water Board has mandated a 28% water reduction for the City to mitigate the impact of the California drought. Public Works Department figures show the City is off to a good start.

To reach this goal, West Sacramento is under a Stage 3 water shortage contingency plan which limits watering lawns and shrubs to one day per week. Water customers with addresses that end in an odd number man only water on Saturdays.  Addresses that end in an even number may only water on Sundays.

Other restrictions include:

-No watering between noon and 6 p.m.

-No filling or refilling empty pools with potable water

-No hosing down driveways, parking lots, buildings or sidewalks

-Do not allow landscape irrigation to runoff into gutters and streets

-Shut-off nozzles must be used for washing vehicles

-Restaurants and bars cannot serve drinking water unless requested by a patron

Keep up the good work, and if you see water being wasted in the City, call the Water Hot Line at 916-617-4545.
