All events are FREE and take place at 1212 Merkley Avenue in West Sacramento!

  • July 2, 2016 – IT Consultant by Appointments Only at 2pm-3pm. A new service to our patrons.  Make an appointment at the reference desk and come with questions along with your laptop or mobile device. We will also have a Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Apple device. Time slots are limited, 15 minutes and available in English and Spanish.
  • Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 11am – 8pm. Sports Themed Activity Sheets (ages 6-12) Kids ages 6 through 12 and their parents or caregivers are invited to come to the library and participate in sports themed activity sheets like crosswords and word searches! All supplies will be provided by the library. Turn in your finished activity sheet to be entered to win a prize!
  • Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm. Run with the Animals! Puppets! Magic! Ventriloquism! (all ages) Kids and their parents or caregivers are invited to come to the library and attended a ventriloquist show! The animals learn their amazing abilities in this comedy, fact filled show! A monkey with five hands? The world’s best long AND high jumper? An animal who lifts the most weight just by standing up!  And an animal who runs like a horse, and looks like a horse, but isn’t a horse!
  • Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 4pm – 5:30pm. PINTEREST Party (ages 13-17). Tweens and teens are invited to come and participate in our very own Pinterest party. Learn how to make your very own emoji pillows, decorate your own journal and paint geometric shapes on a canvas! Materials will be provided.  All participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize.
  • July 14, 2016 – ALL THINGS STRING at 6pm-8pm. Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, or enjoy other fiber arts, this social crafting circle is for you! Bring your current project or start something new!
  • Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 12pm – 1:30pm Special Tot Play Time – Building Blocks (ages 0-5). A monthly special play tot time designed for toddlers and their parents or caregivers. Come out and expand your child’s imagination through using different styles of building blocks. All participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize.

  • Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm. Carnival Games (ages 6-12). Kids ages 6 through 12 and their parents and caregivers are invited to come out and play carnival games that involve bean bag toss, giant Jenga and much more. Games will be provided. All participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize!
  • July 20, 2016 – WHAT’S HAPPENING, SENIORS? at 12pm-1:30pm. Do you want to get together with interested and active seniors? Do you want to make new friends, share stories, learn from one another and plan activities? Join our group and find out “What’s Happening” in West Sacramento and beyond!
  • July 20, 2016 – EVENING BOOK CLUB at 6pm-7:00pm. Join us for our monthly evening book club. Books are collected and distributed at the meeting. This month’s reading selection will be “A Spoon of Blue Thread” by Anne Tyler. Please contact Cindy at (916) 731-5504 for more information.
  • Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 6pm – 7pm. Paper Flowers / Outdoor Crafts Making (ages 18+) Adults are invited to come to the library and create your very own cork vase and paper flowers! Materials will be provided. All participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize.
  • Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm. Sport Bingo (ages 6-12) Kids ages 6 through 12 and their parents or caregivers are invited to come out and participate in sport bingo! All participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize!
  • July 27, 2016 – West Sacramento Friends of the Library Meeting at 6:30pm-8pm. The WSFOL meets the last Wednesday of the month.  WSFOL is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to serving the West Sacramento community supporting library programs and services. WSFOL is always recruiting for new friend.
