Joey Lopes Park Receives Project of the Year Award

The Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) has selected Joseph “Joey” Lopes Park for a Project of the Year Award. The project won in the Parks and Trails category. The APWA Sacramento Chapter Awards Program recognizes public works projects that demonstrate excellence in management, administration design, sustainability, construction and community relations, as well as the alliance among the managing agency and the consultant/engineer/contractor. Joey Lopes Park, named after the West Sacramento boxing legend, opened  last month at the corner of West Capitol Avenue, and Sycamore Avenue.
