  • ENGLISH CONVERSATION GROUPS – Wednesdays at 4pm-5pm and Fridays at 10am-11am. Join our adult Conversation Group and improve your English in a fun and relaxed way with the aid of a group facilitator. No registration is required; drop-in visitors are welcome.
  • RUSSIAN STORY TIME – Tuesdays at 6:30pm-7:30pm Children and their families are encouraged to join us for stories and songs in Russian.
  • SPANISH/ENGLISH STORY TIME – Saturdays at 11am-12pm Children ages 2 to 6 years and their parents are invited to join us for stories, songs, movement, rhymes and finger plays

Special August Programs:

Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm Sport Arts and Crafts (ages 6-12) Kids ages 6 through 12 and their parents or caregivers are invited to come out and participate in sports arts and crafts! You will be able to create 4 sports themed crafts: mosaic tracing art, flying paper Frisbees, stuffed paper footballs, and a sports banner!  All participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize.

Tuesday, August 4, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm ZUMBA (ages 18+) Ditch the workout routine, come and join the party.   Participants will be introduced to a mixture of low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party!

Tuesday, August 6, 2016 at 12pm – 1:30pm Special Tot Play Time – Carnival Games (ages 0-5) A monthly special tot play time designed for toddlers and their parents or caregivers.  Come out and play toddler Carnival Games that involve fishing game, matching ducks and much more. Expand your child’s imagination through playing and a chance to win a prize.

Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm Mini Golf at the Library (ages 6-12)Kids ages 6 through 12 and their parents or caregivers are invited to come out and participate in mini golf! This golf course will have 6 holes and all participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize when they complete the course!

Tuesday, August 11, 2016 at 4pm – 5:30pm Mini Golf Competition (ages 13-17) Tweens or teens are invited to come out and participate in mini golf! We have an awesome 8 hole mini golf course set up and all participants will be entered for a chance to win a prize when they complete the course!

August 11, 2016 – ALL THINGS STRING at 6pm-8pm Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, or enjoy other fiber arts, this social crafting circle is for you! Bring your current project or start something new!

Tuesday, August 15, 2016 at 4pm – 5pm END of SRP ICE CREAM CELEBRATION (ages 6 through 12) Kids ages 6 through 12 and their parents or caregivers are invited to come out and celebrate with free ice cream! We will also be announcing the SRP prize winner!

August 17, 2016 – WHAT’S HAPPENING, SENIORS? at 12pm-1:30pm Do you want to get together with interested and active seniors? Do you want to make new friends, share stories, learn from one another and plan activities? Join our group and find out “What’s Happening” in West Sacramento and beyond!

August 17, 2016 – EVENING BOOK CLUB at 6pm-7:00pm. Join us for our monthly evening book club.  Books are collected and distributed at the meeting.  This month’s reading selection will be “Americanah” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Please contact Cindy at (916) 731-5504 for more information.

August 31, 2016 – West Sacramento Friends of the Library Meeting at 6:30pm-8pm. The WSFOL meets the last Wednesday of the month.  WSFOL is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to serving the West Sacramento community supporting library programs and services.  WSFOL is always recruiting for new friend.
