After years of providing fresh fruits and vegetables for sale from local growers in front of City Hall, the West Sacramento Farmers Market is relocating to The Barn along the riverfront!
The move was announced by the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce Thursday night during a DigIn Dinner at what was the final Farmers Market in downtown.
Mayor Christopher Cabaldon said, “Since we launched it five years ago, the West Sacramento Farmers Market has been a catalyst for activating our new downtown, bringing many residents and visitors to our new library, community center, city hall, and college campus for the first time. Now the Market is going to do the same on the riverfront, as a center of new energy and excitement at the BARN right along West Sacramento’s growing River Walk. One thing won’t change: The West Sacramento Farmers Market will continue to play a key role in providing food access for all residents and expanding marketing opportunities for farmers participating in the internationally-recognized West Sacramento Urban Farm initiative.”
