As part of Flood Preparedness Week, residents of Placer, Sacramento and Yolo counties are urged to prepare for a natural or human-caused disaster, wildfires, flooding or help finding a missing person.

Residents can register with the mass notification system at any one of the following three websites: www.Placer-Alert.org , www.Sacramento-Alert.org, www.Yolo-Alert.org. The alert system allows residents to enter more than one contact method including cell phones, alternate numbers, text, email and landline phones to be notified in the event of an emergency. Signing up is easy and all information is protected. The mass notification system is a critical link for residents to immediately learn of actions they might need to take for their safety.

Messages will go out at approximately 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, October 26 to anyone who has registered. Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated.
