Renovations of Mill St Pier Have Begun

Renovations on the historic Mill St. Pier in the City’s Bridge District are underway! In the 1930’s the pier was operated by National Rice Mills to support a milling facility, but has been unused in for many years due to safety issues.

The renovation of the Mill St. Pier is part of the City of West Sacramento’s broader efforts to make the riverfront more accessible. Located just southeast of the Barn, the new project will include safety railing, lighting and seating for the public.

The project will allow visitors to walk out onto the pier and experience a direct connection to the Sacramento River along with scenic views of nearby bridges, city skylines and rich wildlife habitat, all in an urbanized setting.

Renovations of the pier are expected to be completed by early 2017.
