January 3, 2017 through February 28, 2017 – National Archives Traveling Exhibits –The Bill of Rights and You!

The Bill of Rights and You! is part of Amending America, a national initiative exploring the power of the Bill of Rights and our enduring system of government. The display will be from January 3, 2017 through February 28, 2017.

January 6, 2017 – I SEE YOU Exhibit & Celebration at 1pm – 4pm

Come and view the beautiful art that the I SEE YOU project has created and have a chance to purchase this art! This is a YoloArts project funded by a grant from the James Irvine Foundation’s Exploring Engagement Fund. The project seeks to increase community engagement through the arts among people experiencing homelessness in Yolo County, while raising awareness for participants throughout the region by saying I SEE YOU.  For more information, contact I SEE YOU at (530) 309-6464 or by email iseeyouart@yoloarts.org.

January 7, 2017 – Therapeutic Tai Chi and Qigong Part XV at 11am – 12pm

Come and learn a series of movements and breathing exercise for general wellness, stress relief, physical balance, flexibility and fall prevention.

Part XV, we shall re-visit fall prevention and flexibility exercises. Learn not to be afraid of fall and how to minimize the fall impact and injury. Exercises on the floor mat will also incorporate tai chi practices of breathing and flexibility. Come in comfortable clothing, floor mats will be provided.

Please note that you do not attend previous session to attend this class.  No registration required.  Please come in comfort clothing.

Dr. Gigi Tze-yue Hu is a semi-retired Asian Studies scholar and is currently completing her Master Degree in Tai Chi.

January 14, 2017 – UCCE Yolo County Master Gardeners: Planting & Pruning Fruit Trees at 3pm-5pm

January 28, 2017 – Chinese New Year Celebration at 2pm-3:30pm

Lets celebrate the Year of the Rooster.  Families are invited to come out and make crafts in the teen room.  Leave with a red envelope with a goody inside.

February 14, 2017 – Monthly Computer Class: Microsoft Office at 9:30am-10:30am

During this class we will go over the basics of Microsoft Word and Publisher. Word is a great tool to write letters or papers and Publisher is a great tool to make fliers or print pictures. Experience using a computer is highly recommended.

Have you ever wanted to try Photoshop but don’t want to pay for it? Do you have pictures that you want to edit but need more options than Microsoft Paint? Come to this class to learn the basics on how to use a free alternative to Photoshop. Experience using a computer is necessary.

March 16, 2017 – Building Strong Communities in Our Neighborhoods at 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Come and learn about the nature of conflict, how it impacts our lives and communities, and how we can turn conflicts into opportunities to connect with our neighbors.  This workshop is presented by the Yolo Conflict Resolution Center.
