Warm Weather Brings Out Mosquitos
While the official start of spring is still a couple of weeks away, warming temperatures have brought an increase in mosquito activity. Warm sunny days along with stagnant water left behind from winter rain storms makes the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes.
The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District is asking residents to be responsible and do their part to eliminate areas of stagnant water around the home. Check buckets, tires, flowerpots, clogged rain gutters, tarps and containers that hold water and other sources that may serve as a vessel for mosquito breeding. Dump this water out!
To report neglected swimming pools, areas with stagnant water or mosquito breeding problems, please call 1-800-429-1022 or fill out a service request online at www.FIGHTtheBITE.net
