Maybe you just need help with getting started at the Recreation Center? Sign up for an Intro to Fitness for $5  OR do a New Client Intro with a trainer for $10.

Nutrition and Strength Training

Part 1: Monday, June 12th

Part 2: Monday, June 19th

Both classes: 6:00-7:00pm

$20 pass holders / $30 non pass holders

Join Health Coach and Personal Trainer Brittany and Personal Trainer Jake for “Leaner, Healthier, and Stronger: A Strength Seminar.” In this two part learning experience you’ll discover how to change your body composition using nutrition and strength training. In our first meeting we’ll discuss nutrition’s role in strength performance and body composition as well as the importance of strength workouts throughout the life cycle. In our second class we’ll teach you how you can implement strength training in your workouts with confidence. You’ll leave with a template to help you create strength workouts and progress with a better understanding of how to design workouts.

*This class is absolutely relevant for anyone interested in learning more about the benefits of strength training no matter your ability level.

Lifeguard Training

Are you too young to be a lifeguard or swim instructor but would like to see what it takes?  Sign up for the Camp Guard Summer Training class!  Learn to rescue or teach swim lessons and work side by side with the West Sacramento Lifeguards. All students must volunteer 30 hours after completion of the class.

FEE: $160 per participant

June 5th-15th 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

*This is a NOT a lifeguard certification program.


Summer Tennis Programs

Tennis players join Coach Brooks to learn and develop your tennis skills! All ability levels welcome. Equipment available for students if needed.

Session 1: Wed/Thurs/Fri June 7-16
Session 2: Tues/Wed/Fri June 20-June 30

Session 3: Wed/Thurs/Fri July 5-14

Session 4: Mon/Tue/Wed & Wed/Thurs/Fri July 17-28

Session 5: Tues/Wed/Fri August 1-11

Time: 8:30-9:30 (Beginners)

9:30-10:30 (Advanced beginning/Intermediate)

Age: 5-17 years

FEE: $40 per session

Location: Recreation Center Tennis Courts


Beginning Skateboarding

Learn the fundamentals of skateboarding along with opportunities for advanced techniques such as flip tricks, riding the ramps, grinding on rails and much more!

 

Session 1: July 10-14

Session 2: July 17-21

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm

 Fee: $65/ session   $10 for transportation/ session

(Transportation available ONLY for registered participants of Teen Camp,

KIDS Camp, Camp Lakeside and Sports Camp. Registration Limited.)


Healthy Cooking Night Out

Tomato Fest July 11th 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Whether you shop the farmer’s markets, grocery stores, or your own garden, tomatoes are everywhere this time of year! Come explore the many ways to use everyone’s favorite fruit!

UPCOMING CLASSES

Cooking for Optimal Health – July 13th @ 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  OR July 19th @ 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Come join us for this very special, hands-on cooking class, that will incorporate nutrient dense foods, thus allowing your body to create an optimal terrain for fighting cancer and many other modern diseases.  Our class will begin with a special presentation by Jan Adrian, Founder of Healing Journeys. Our menu will include:

Zucchini Fritters Cooked in Ghee
Poached Salmon with Lemon-Turmeric Aioli
Summer Vegetable Gazpacho
Strawberry Fool

This is a hands-on cooking class, so please bring a cutting board, chef’s knife, and apron with you to class.  And of course, your appetite, as we will be sampling everything we make!
Note: Please bring $10 materials fee payable to instructor.

*Tastings of everything prepared will be included.  Space is limited, so sign-up early!


Drop-In Pickleball

Pickleball is an indoor double paddle/volley game similar to tennis that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Monday 3:30-6:00 p.m.

Wednesday 3:30-6:00 p.m.

*Day pass or monthly pass required.


Clubhouse Rec

Clubhouse Rec kids participate in staff led games, activities, songs, arts and crafts, all at the Recreation Center.  Participants may bring a small snack and water.  Parents are not required to stay on site.

Ages 3-6 – Tuesday & Thursday 12:30-3:00pm

June 13-29  SOLD OUT

July 11-27th – $60

August 1-10 – $40
