About the Artists

The art exhibition Discovering within Gallery 1075 of the West Sacramento Community Center presents the work of two young women:

  • Mayra Ramos Chavez celebrates her Mexican-American culture and femininity with a dreamy glow to her paintings.  She is influenced by strong women artists like Frida Kahlo and Remedios Varo.
  • Alexa Pichly confronts her familiarity with learning disabilities, namely Attention Deficit Disorder and Audio Processing Disorder, for which she was diagnosed with at a young age.  Geometric forms are featured prominently in her work, creating order and peace.
