City Hall Turns 10

City of West Sacramento 25 Year LogoWest Sacramento’s City Hall was completed in November 2002. During the past 10 years, City Hall has become the dynamic “cornerstone” of the greatly-expanded features of West Capitol Avenue’s Civic Center, including the Community Center, the Arthur F. Turner Community Library, the West Sacramento Center of Sacramento City College, a transit center, and striking additions to the West Capitol Avenue streetscape.

The City observed the 10 year anniversary of City Hall’s construction on Nov. 27, 2012, with a cake-cutting in the Galleria attended by City staff. Pictured, City Manager Martin Tuttle and City Councilmember Mark Johannessen slice the cake. The 64,000 square foot City Hall filled West Sacramento’s need for space for public meetings and special events. It also serves as the base of operations for most City departments and the City Council. Happy birthday, City Hall!
