Water Conservation Alert!

As temperatures soar, the City of West Sacramento is calling for voluntary water conservation measures by City of West Sacramento water customers.

Residents and business owners are urged to curtail nonessential water use, such as waiting until after the heat wave to wash cars and to turn off faucets while scrubbing dishes, washing hands and brushing teeth. Hosing off driveways, streets and sidewalks is especially discouraged.

Such measures not only reduce customer bills and save energy, but also save the city money and ensure enough water to go around.  While the city doesn’t expect to have supply issues, the extended stretch of high temperatures can push City equipment to its limit.

In addition, residents are reminded to please water lawns and other landscaping only on alternate days based on address, only before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m., and not on Mondays.
Addresses ending in odd numbers may water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; even-numbered addresses on Wednesday Friday and Sunday.  The same schedule applies to washing cars.
