30th Anniversary for National Night Out, Aug. 6

Police Badge“National Night Out” is Tuesday, Aug. 6. This public anti-crime program has been bringing neighborhoods together across the nation. In West Sacramento, National Night Out will be celebrated in fifteen neighborhoods with block parties and barbecues. The West Sacramento Police Dept. joins residents and neighborhood groups in support of the program’s 30th year. The following neighborhoods plan National Night Out activities, between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.:

National Night Out is designed to:

Heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention;
Generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime efforts; and
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
