Go-Biz Director to Speak to Sacramento Area Businesses about New Incentives

Governor’s Office of Business & Economic Development director Kish Rajan will outline the recently enacted Governor’s Economic Development Initiative (GEDI) Tuesday in West Sacramento. The event will provide an overview of the new three-part initiative signed by Governor Brown in July – AB93 and SB90.

“We’re excited to talk about these updates for economic development in the state. As we’ve seen lately, the Golden State’s economy has been coming back strong over the past year,” said Kish Rajan, “But with GEDI we now have new, dynamic tools to increase that momentum and put our foot on the accelerator for economic development in California.”

The new economic development tools include a Manufacturing Sales and Use Tax Exemption, a New Employment Credit and the California Competes Tax Credit for business attraction, expansion and retention. The complete GO-Biz briefing on the Governor’s Economic Development Initiative is available here.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27th from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the West Sacramento City Hall Galleria – 1110 West Capitol Ave.  The event is free to the public and registration is available here.

The event is co-hosted by the City of West Sacramento, the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization, the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, CalED, CalRecycle, SCORE, the Sacramento Metro Chamber, NorCal SBDC, and the City of Davis.
