Christmas Tree Recycling

Residents may recycle their Christmas trees in one of three ways (before recycling the tree, please remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights, flocking and the stand):

    • Cut the tree into sections small enough to fit inside your yard waste cart (about 3-foot sections). Place the pieces either inside or bundled next to the yard waste cart. The tree pieces will be picked up on your regular service day; or
    • Take the tree to Whitey’s Jolly Kone, Saturday, Jan. 4, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., to benefit West Sacramento Cub Scout Pack 49. Donations are accepted and will benefit Pack 49. Whitey’s is located at 1300 Jefferson Blvd.; or
    • Take the tree to the Yolo County Landfill for free drop-off, Monday to Saturday, 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The landfill is located at 44090 County Road 28H. Please call (530) 666-8729 or visit the website for more information and directions:

Thanks for your responsible recycling of your Christmas trees!
