Check Yolo-Solano AQMD for “Don’t Light Tonight” Advisories

Yolo-Solano AQMDOn days in which particulate pollution levels are forecast to be higher, the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District (AQMD) asks Yolo County residents to refrain from burning wood. Participation in the “Don’t Light Tonight” program is encouraged but voluntary.

Wood smoke contributes to fine particulate pollution. Certain weather conditions, such as those expected in the Yolo-Solano area, keep smoke in our neighborhoods and elevate pollution concentrations. Children, the elderly and those with lung ailments are especially susceptible to the health impacts of wood smoke.
