UPDATE: National Night Out, Aug. 5

“National Night Out” is Tuesday, Aug. 5. This public anti-crime program has been bringing neighborhoods together across the nation.  In West Sacramento, National Night Out will be celebrated throughout the city with block parties and barbecues.



The West Sacramento Police Department joins residents and neighborhood groups in support of the program’s 31st year. The following neighborhoods will have National Night Out activities, between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.:

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten awareness of crime and
    drug prevention;
  • Generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime efforts; and
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
