Check Yolo-Solano AQMD for “Don’t Light Tonight” Advisories

YoloSolanoOn days with a forecast for high particulate pollution levels, the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District (AQMD) asks Yolo County residents to refrain from burning wood to reduce potential health impacts. Residents can sign up for email or text message advisory alerts at http://ysaqmd.enviroflash.org/.

Advisories are also shared on the AQMD’s Facebook page at facebook.com/YoloSolanoAir. Wood smoke contributes to fine particulate pollution. Certain weather conditions, such as those expected in the Yolo-Solano area, keep smoke in neighborhoods and elevate pollution concentrations. Children, the elderly and those with lung ailments are especially susceptible to the health impacts of wood smoke.
